Tuesday Tea Party – Let the walkabout begin!

Tuesday Tea PartyTuesdays will never be the same! This ain’t your Grandma’s tea party!

Tuesday, May 19th, 6pm at Eli’s is the kick-off, weekly progressive walkabout tour of five Scottsdale restaurants in the neighborhood between Eli’s and Handlebar J’s. The Tea Party is designed as an after-work event that encourages socializing and networking the old-fashioned way, in person, one-on-one. Participants will spend approx. 30 minutes at each location, enjoying adult drink specials like Firefly “Tea”, free snacks, promotional giveaways and raffle prizes. Then, at the sound of a whistle (Paula’s job), strollers will move to the next stop for approx. 30 minutes, and continue in that mode.

The five participating restaurants are:

  1. Eli’s
  2. Tapino
  3. Handlebar J
  4. Centro
  5. Chop & Wok Star Bar

The “pied piper” will then lead the gang back to Eli’s at approx. 8:30 for raffle prize drawings. This event takes “friendly competition” to a new level! Two local cab companies, Comptaxi and Euro Way will be available if rides are needed. The twist to this unique tour is the owners of the Fab Five, along with their off-duty employees, will cruise along with the customers to each stop. You may learn more about these people than you ever wanted to know! This weekly event is a positive spin on last month’s anti-tax Tea Party rallies, said organizer and ring-leader Greg Elias. “Regulations related to drinking and driving have had a negative impact on the food and beverage industry,” he said.

“People are telling us they want to have a good time again, like the old days. So we decided to collaborate with our neighbors to bring back the fun of a pub-crawl with the easiest way to travel… ON FOOT! We think this is a way to make everybody happy…the people, the establishments and the police.” Part of the proceeds from T-shirt sales and a fund-raising booth will be donated to The 100 club of Arizona, a nonprofit organization in support of fallen police and firefighters.

“We want to make Scottsdale a fun place to be again with the real-deal guys, the ones who keep giving good food and good service” said Greg who has been working in the AZ hospitality industry for 43 years. Join us each Tuesday, starting May 19th for the Tuesday Tea Party at Eli’s at 6pm. United we stand and walk!
