I asked around for science/academically oriented tours of the Sonoran Desert in the office. Besides for a myriad of tour companies listed on our site (
Ground Tours, Desert Tours, Eco Tour ), you may want to try the Sonoran Desert Museum in the West Valley http://www.desertmuseum.org/visit/hours.php.

A hummer or jeep tour will get you out into the Sonoran Desert and all the drivers are trained to give you a good overview of the flora and fauna. They are well worth the time if you are interested in getting into the desert.

Hello:

Do you offer science/academically oriented tours of the Sonoran Desert? I am planning a trip in January 2010 and wanted to take in the desert, but am interested in learning more about the eco-system aspects of desert life. I am also interested in tours that include Tailesin West, the Botanical Garden, the Heard Museum and the Scottsdale Arts District.

If you can send me specific information about these places, I would appreciate it.

Thanks.
