About the Center:
Scottsdale Fashion Square is a super-regional, high-end, retail flagship shopping center in the heart of Scottsdale, AZ, which over 40 years has become the region’s dominant fashion destination. This retail powerhouse has four department stores (growing to five by fall 2009) and currently has more than 225 stores and restaurants. The center is known for consistently introducing first-to-market retailers to the Arizona market.
About the New Expansion:
Scottsdale Fashion Square is set to open its new, 100,000 square-foot expansion which will introduce Arizona’s first Barneys New York department store and an exciting array of new-t0-market retailers and restaurants, including Arthur, Michael Stars and Ed Hardy, as well as Modern Steak/Fish, Marcella’s and Fred’s, the hot eatery found exclusively inside Barneys.
Designed to resemble the Nordstrom wing, the new expansion will incorporate significant natural light via skylights and an oversized window facing Scottsdale Road. Customers will enjoy two levels of new underground parking plus three additional valet locations including the new parking entrance area – as well as comfortable and attractive seating areas with great views of Scottsdale.
Grand Opening:
Grand Opening is slated for October 15, 2009.
Appropriately, the expansion will officially open to the public at 10:15 a.m. on 10/15. The centerpiece of Grand Opening is a one-of-a-kind art exhibit called, “The Mannequin is Our Muse.” Dozens of local celebrities, influencers and artists are creating individual works of art using full-size mannequins, which will be unveiled and displayed throughout the shopping center.
