Beautiful Light to luminate the sky January 16-17

by Mitchell Tay on January 12, 2009 in Things To Do |

After a setback to the intermittent rain last month at the Night Lights on the Canal the Beautiful Light exhibit will make its electrifying debut this weekend on January 16-17 at the Waterfront in Downtown Scottsdale.  D.A. Therrien’s Beautiful Light is a large-scale high-voltage art spectacle that’s 80 feet wide that crosses the canal pumping 500 kilowatts of power. This is the first installation by D.A. Therrien’s Beautiful Light series. The 4 LETTER WORD MACHINE explores the purity of white light, the mystery of language, the precision of digital codes and the magic of 4 letters – A, C, G, T – representing the DNA code, and consequently, all known life.  This is one exhibit you do not want to miss out on. Light transmissions will be showing on the hour from 7-11pm.  For more information please go to: http://www.scottsdalepublicart.org/beautifullight.php
