An Exclusive Screening of Eatrip, a Japanese Foodie Film

If you call yourself a foodie, you can’t miss this event. On September 29th, the Chef’s Loft at the Scottsdale Waterfront will host a night of Japanese cuisine, music, cooking demonstrations, and the main event, a screening of Eatrip.
Eatrip is a Japanese documentary that explores our connection to food and to each other, both as an interaction among people and between people and nature, through the experiences of a food purveyor, a singer, a famous actor, a homemaker who lives off the land and a Buddhist monk. Viewers are brought along on a cultural journey that includes a traditional tea ceremony, a visit to the famous Tsukiji Fish Market in Tokyo, and a gathering around the dinner table in this engaging film by director Yuri Nomura.
Don’t worry, speaking Japanese is not required. The movie has English subtitles. However, wearing Japanese-inspired attire (kimono, yukata, etc.) is encouraged.
To accompany the movie, movie snacks will be served such as green tea and rice crackers. There will be a number of cooking demonstrations and the loft will be filled with the rhythms of Taiko drumming.
